(Senior) QA Engineer with focus on embedded software
About this position
We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced (Senior) QA Engineer to help us enhance the embedded software quality engineering landscape inside our parcel locker venture, which is an integral part of our larger software engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development (and testing) of new products and processes in the area of embedded and mobile software, while maintaining our commitment to highest quality and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance program that ensures product and service quality meets customer expectations and industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement quality standards for embedded software products
- Develop and maintain metrics and reports to measure and improve quality and efficiency
- Provide guidance and support for software testing, bug tracking, and defect resolution
- Continuously improve the quality practices by leveraging automation in testing and agile process improvement initiatives through the development lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements for quality and safety
What you need to be successful
Background
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- 3-5+ years of experience in quality assurance, with a strong focus on embedded software products
- At least 2 years of experience with Java, Kotlin and/or JavaScript/Typescript would be considered as a bonus
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality products, preferably working on consumer-facing product companies – embedded & mobile apps focused
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for quality and safety
- Experience with mentoring junior quality engineers is a plus
Competencies
- Practical experience with test automation of backend (micro)-services on API/System/E2E level
- Practical experience with E2E test automation of native mobile (Android) apps
- Experience with Git and agile development methodologies
- Experience with CI tools (GitHub Actions or similar) as well as monitoring and observability tools (Datadog or similar)
- Experience with improving the engineering test environments in collaboration with infrastructure engineers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Pragmatism and ability to work autonomously with a strong positive attitude to overcome challenges with passion and proactiveness
